Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
  • Must pass Criminal Investigation Background and DHHR background checks, plus post offer drug screen.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain agency properties and assist with grounds and custodial tasks.
  • Follow safety procedures and report maintenance issues to management.
  • Paint interior/exterior doors and touch up surfaces.
  • Clean and secure lighting, gutters, and common areas.

Description

Summary: Maintains physical condition of all agency owned and managed property

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Follows up on work assignments for efficient, thorough completion;
  • Notifies management of maintenance problems and recommended solutions;
  • Communicate with Assistant Director of Facilities daily to report on status of all scheduled work
  • Keeps workshop or utility room clean, orderly, and safe;
  • Obtains thorough knowledge of power, water, and gas turnoffs, cleanout traps, fire extinguishers and fire hydrants;
  • Assists in all aspects of the property’s maintenance, including grounds, custodial, preventive, corrective, deferred and emergency maintenance:
  • Perform basic painting/touching up of interior/exterior doors, office, walls, trim, etc.
  • Maintains exterior and public lighting
  • Clears gutters and downspouts
  • Repairs structural wear and damage to buildings
  • Cares for lawn, plants, shrubs and flowers
  • Cleans parking areas, sidewalks, alleyways, hallways and common areas
  • Moves, assembles, re-arranges client and staff furnishings as requested
  • Picks up trash on property,
  • Cleans garbage areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

  • Willingness to perform any task that is required
  • Good safety habits
  • Familiarity and experience with basic tools and lawn equipment
  • Ability to lift and / or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately with a variety of individuals
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Work with staff, consumers and others in a professional, cooperative, ethical, respectful and effective manner

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous maintenance, facilities or landscape experience preferred.
  • Must pass Criminal Investigation Background and DHHR background checks as well as post offer drug screen.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to use a standard computer keyboard, bend, reach and lifts up to 50 pounds are required in this position.
