Job summary

Aviata Health Group in Orlando, FL is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Assistant to keep our facility grounds, building, and equipment safe and efficient for residents and staff. You will coordinate daily maintenance with nursing services, assist with repairs, preventative maintenance, refurbishing projects, and furniture/equipment moving, and help ensure safety and comfort across the campus.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years’ experience as a building trade helper or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated compassion and dedication to quality work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance with nursing when performing routine tasks.
• Assist with repairs, preventive maintenance, refurbishing, and moving furniture/equipment.
• Maintain facility grounds.
• Ensure facility and equipment are well-maintained for resident comfort.
• Assist with safety inspections, tests, and drills.
• Contribute to creating and implementing ideas to improve systems and processes.

The primary purpose of your job position is to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Major Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
• Assist with all repairs, preventative maintenance, refurbishing projects, and furniture/equipment moving.
• Maintain the facility ground.
• Ensure that the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience.
• Assist with safety inspections, tests, and drills, as requested.
• Provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ experience as a building trade helper, apprentice or equivalent preferred.
• You must be qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to a job well done.
