Job summary

Little Sisters of the Poor—St. Joseph’s Home in Louisville is seeking a facilities maintenance worker to uphold a safe, sanitary, and comfortable living environment for residents.

Responsibilities include maintaining heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, and routine repairs. Candidate will perform inspections, ensure safety compliance with state and local codes, and assist with general upkeep and repairs as needed to support a high standard of care in the

• Experience maintaining building systems and safety standards.
• Ability to perform routine repair work and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate facility systems to ensure a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment.
• Inspect and repair heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and related systems; perform carpentry, painting, and plastering as needed.
• Respond to requests for repairs, conduct periodic safety inspections, and assist with maintenance planning.

Responsible for maintaining the facility and providing a safe functional, sanitary and comfortable environment by assuring that the ventilation, fresh air, electrical and mechanical systems, water supply, and sewage disposal are maintained in accordance with recognized safety standards, state/federal codes and local ordinances meeting the standards and philosophy of the facility and policies/procedures that govern the facility.

Job Responsibilities and duties:

Maintain and equip the facility to provide a safe, functional, sanitary and comfortable environment.

Maintain the heating, cooling, plumbing, water supply and sewage disposal, electrical and mechanical systems, carpentry, painting, plastering, refinishing and similar repairs.

Drive when requested to pick up mail, parts, donations, etc.

Conduct periodic facility inspections assuring that the facility is structurally sound equipped and maintained to ensure the safety of residents.
