Position Overview

Clearwater's new senior living community, The Leonard on Beverly, is hiring a Maintenance Assistant. The role involves caring for the interior and exterior of the community grounds, following guidelines and policies, under the direction of the Maintenance Director.

Pay Range

$21–$24/hour, DOE.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, clean, and repair equipment and property, including replacing light bulbs, repairing resident furniture, kitchen and bathroom fixtures, HVAC filter maintenance, and other general upkeep.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing and electrical problems such as wall switches, lighting, receptacles, resident call systems, laundry and kitchen equipment.
• Plan, order, and perform interior and exterior painting and landscaping tasks.
• Maintain and repair pools and spas, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Prepare vacant apartments, including window treatments, painting, caulking, carpet shampooing, and minor carpentry.
• Keep work areas safe by posting signs, removing hazards, and storing equipment properly.
• Use appropriate safety equipment, report health, safety, or sanitation concerns.
• Monitor community security, including entry and exit doors.
• Maintain clean, organized maintenance and storage areas, following chemical handling and PPE policies.

Qualifications

• AA degree or Bachelor’s preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience in senior living, property management, or hospitality.
• 5–7 years of maintenance experience in senior living or related industry, handling electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural work.
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience, including training staff and managing a budget.
• First Aid Certification preferred.
• Background clearance required.
• Must meet health requirements, including TB.
