Job summary

Polaris Health & Wellness of Ashton Court is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support a long-term care center. You will perform preventative maintenance, electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs, and maintain equipment to meet center needs.

The role includes ensuring a safe, sanitary environment for residents and staff, and may involve training personnel and participating in meetings. Experience in a care facility is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a long term care center preferred.
• Ability to read and write English for business necessity.
• Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
• One year experience in basic trades preferred.
• Working knowledge of plant support systems (cooling/heating, emergency systems) preferred.

TECHNICAL

• Ensures a safe, comfortable, sanitary environment for residents, staff and visitors in accordance with Federal, State and Corporate requirements.
• Performs preventative maintenance procedures.
• Requires full range of body motion.

ADMINISTRATIVE

• Maintains equipment necessary to meet Center needs.
• Understands department budget.
• Maintains written records and documents of services performed according to Federal, Sate and Corporate requirements.
• May train personnel to meet Center needs.
• Participates in assigned meetings and in-services.

SUPERVISORY

• May assume role of Director in his absence.
