Job summary

The Plaza Assisted Living in Kaneohe, Hawaii is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our community team. You will partner with the Director of Maintenance and Housekeeping to keep the property safe, clean, and well‑maintained for residents and staff.

Starting pay is $20 per hour for a part‑time daytime shift, with paid on‑the‑job training and benefits including health, vision, and drug insurance, a 401(k) with company match, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or general construction.
• Strong organizational abilities to follow detailed maintenance schedules, complete logs, and perform daily safety checks.
• Highly dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working with leadership to maintain community standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute established preventive maintenance schedules to upkeep property, equipment, and utilities.
• Conduct routine system checks, maintain logs, and perform daily rounds to identify safety hazards.
• Perform minor repairs including painting, carpentry, and plumbing; prepare resident units for occupancy as vacancies occur.
• Assist with emergency repairs and larger projects such as air conditioning maintenance and room setups.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our community team. In this role, you will partner with the Director of Maintenance and Housekeeping to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our residents and staff.

• Conduct routine system checks, maintain accurate logs (such as water temperature and life safety systems), and perform daily property rounds to identify safety hazards.
• Perform minor repairs—including painting, carpentry, and plumbing—and quickly prepare resident units for occupancy as vacancies occur.
• Assist with emergency repairs, larger projects like air conditioning maintenance, and everyday community needs such as cutting keys and room setups.
