Job summary

Tali Healthcare Management is seeking a dependable maintenance technician to serve our healthcare facility. The role covers general upkeep, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment maintenance in a patient-centered environment.

The ideal candidate reads and speaks English, works well in a team, and can make independent decisions when needed. You will handle preventive maintenance, fix various systems, and keep accurate service records for equipment.

Qualifications

  • Able to communicate tactfully with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Paint chipped or faded areas and address scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Perform basic plumbing to repair fixtures and prevent water damage.
  • Carry out light carpentry such as rail and drawer repairs.
  • Repair windows, walls, call systems, and light fixtures.
  • Check electrical switches and outlets and replace bulbs as needed.
  • Handle heating/cooling and general wiring repairs with safety in mind.
  • Maintain a working list and service/repair records for medical equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on medical equipment per manufacturer specs.
  • Review maintenance logs and follow up on requests.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Painting, chipped, faded or scheduled areas
  • Basic plumbing such as fixture repair/replacement to avoid water damage,
  • Basic carpentry such as hand rail repair, dresser drawer pull repair
  • Window, wall repair
  • Call system repair
  • Light fixture repair
  • Electrical switch plate, outlet cover repairs
  • Replace light bulbs
  • Heating/cooling and general wiring repair. (note if special certifications are required)
  • General equipment repair
  • Maintains working list of all medical equipment in the facility and service/repair records.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on medical equipment in the facility.
  • Follows manufacturer’s specifications regarding repair and preventive maintenance of medical and other equipment in the facility.
  • Checks maintenance request logs multiple times daily and performs follow-up.

  • Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Meets general health requirements according to facility policy, including medical and physical exams and checking immunity status to various infectious diseases.
  • Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. May be subject to call back for emergencies.
  • Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.
  • May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day; encounter reactions from dust, tobacco smoke, disinfectants, and other air contaminants.
  • May be subject to hostile or emotional residents, family members, visitors or personnel.
  • Ability to observe, listen and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to cope with the mental, emotional and physical stress of the position.
  • Ability to tolerate varying temperatures in hot/cold and/or wet environments.
  • Ability to lift, move, push or pull a minimum of 35 pounds to a minimum of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • Works in all areas throughout the facility.
