Job summary

Carlton Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Elk Grove, CA. The role involves assisting with repairs, upkeep, and preventative maintenance of the building, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, comfortable living environment for residents.

You will support turnover tasks, respond to maintenance requests, and collaborate with staff on events and safety protocols while upholding community standards.

Qualifications

• Six months of relevant education/experience required.
• 18+ years old per Title 22 requirements.
• Experience with power tools or industrial cleaning equipment preferred.

What we are hiring for:

Schedule: Friday to Tuesday 9:00am-5:00pm

Pay Range:

$18.40-$20.40

What You’ll Do:

• Assist the Maintenance Manager with repairs, upkeep, and preventative maintenance of the building, equipment, and grounds.
• Support apartment turnover by painting, cleaning carpets, and completing minor repairs to ensure units are move‑in ready.
• Respond to maintenance requests and resident concerns promptly, professionally, and with a focus on satisfaction and safety.
• Perform routine tasks including trash management, safety checks, common area cleaning, and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with other departments for event setups, move‑ins/outs, and marketing needs while upholding community standards.
• Support safety protocols, emergency plans, and elopement prevention practices.
• Foster a warm, collaborative atmosphere with residents, families, and team members.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years or older, per Title 22 requirements
• At least six months of relevant education and/or hands‑on experience required.
• Prior experience with power tools or industrial cleaning equipment is preferred.
• Background in facility maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, electrical, or plumbing is strongly desired.
