Maintenance Assistant
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Respiratory and Rehab in Coventry, RI. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times. If you are mechanically inclined, can work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively, we encourage you to apply for this full-time, 40 hours.
Maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Recognize hazards to residents or staff safety and take appropriate action to maintain a safe environment
Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion
Replace, repair, and purchase items according to facility policy and procedure
Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs and document accurately
Maintain weather protection against cold, heat, fire, and other hazards
Supervise outside contractors
Serve on-call for emergency and off-duty hours
Perform errands and tasks as required
Maintain upkeep of exterior of building and grounds in all weather conditions
Other tasks assigned by managerial team
Long Term Care Experience Required
High school diploma or its equivalent
General background in repair and maintenance
Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language
Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism
Ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance areas
Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel and handle residents based on their maturity level
Ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
Ability to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing maintenance practices
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition
Sufficient mechanical abilities to handle facility maintenance needs with little outside contract use
