We currently have an opening in our Facilities department for a Maintenance Assistant and are seeking candidates who are passionate about the mental health field and are looking to join a team of dynamic and dedicated professionals!
As a Maintenance Assistant you will assist the director of facilities and the facilities team with variety of maintenance functions including repair, preventive maintenance, remodeling, safety inspections, security inspections and cleaning services for all Riverbend facilities.
Responsibilities Of This Position
- Help maintain landscaping at all facilities, including lawn care, planting flowers, yard clean-up, and enhancing the appearance of the grounds.
- Building items like office furniture, cabinets, flooring, fixtures, counters, doors, and window frames, as well as constructing fences and gates to meet specific needs.
- Install and maintain systems, including minor electrical work, HVAC units, conduits, ducting, motors, bells, lighting, circulators, and gutters.
- Keep tools and equipment in good condition and ready for use, ensuring they are safe.
- Work with the Facilities Director to inspect facility systems and components to find necessary repairs.
- Apply finishes to walls and other surfaces, including undercoats, textures, tints, and plasters.
- Prepare documents such as check requests, purchase requisitions, and maintenance reports following Riverbend policy.
- Be available for on-call coverage to respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Maintains open, positive communication promoting a positive atmosphere of cooperation and professionalism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems using good judgment when making decisions.
- Well-organized, self-motivated, goal-oriented and flexible.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
