Job Description

A Maintenance Assistant is needed at our new and exciting facility in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Tennessee State Veterans’ Home is a long-term care and skilled nursing facility dedicated to caring for Tennessee veterans and their families. Ranked in the top 3% for quality care according to CMS, it has been a leader in nursing home care for over 25 years.

Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Follow maintenance and repair schedules for all areas of the facility and grounds.
  • Follow waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
  • Care for, use, maintain, and repair equipment properly.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Use maintenance equipment and supplies in a cost-effective manner.
  • Perform maintenance and repair procedures following facility policy.
  • Adhere to the facility safety program.
  • Observe infection control procedures related to maintenance.
  • Work cooperatively with all staff, physicians, consultants, and service providers.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Assist families and visitors as needed.
  • Attend required training and meetings.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
