Job Description

Wage: $20.00+ / Hr. DOE

Schedule: Open Availability

Summary: The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for caring for and maintaining the interior and exterior of the community grounds, following policies and directives from supervisors.

Essential Duties (Include % of time):

• Maintain, clean, and repair equipment and property as directed, including floors, bathrooms, walls, stairways, and elevators (50%)
• Ensure safety by posting signs, removing hazards, and using protective equipment
• Monitor community security and keep maintenance areas organized and safe
• Follow proper procedures for handling chemicals and waste
• Address work orders such as replacing bulbs, repairing furniture, and general maintenance (50%)
• Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs on plumbing and electrical systems
• Perform painting, landscaping, and pool maintenance as needed
• Prepare apartments for new residents, including repairs and cleaning
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements

• Age 18+ or proper work authorization
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Background checks and health screening including TB test
• Valid driver’s license and insurance
• Mechanical skills and troubleshooting experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak English, and operate tools safely

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, climbing, bending, and carrying
