Job summary

St. Joseph Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Boston is seeking a part-time maintenance technician to support residents by painting, patching and preparing walls in Residents Rooms.

You will also help maintain safety through MSDS updates and PPE usage, and respond to urgent maintenance needs with minimal supervision. The role emphasizes compliance with center policies, data documentation, and open communication with staff, families and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Painting, patching, preparing walls in Residents Rooms
• Updates the MSDS manual and understands all aspects of safe chemical usage, including the appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
• Comprehends the center's Performance Improvement initiatives and applies new interventions as directed by the Director of Maintenance.
• Demonstrates the ability to document data in required logs to maintain the department's compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform all tasks assigned in a timely manor with minimal supervision.
• Responds to emergency maintenance needs in a prompt manor.
• Maintains and applies updated knowledge of equipment and plant functions.
• Completes mandatory in-services and competencies.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the rights and dignity of residents, staff, and community and applies this knowledge while on the job.
• Maintains the confidence of resident information and center information.
• Maintains open and productive communication systems with peers, families, vendors and other staff members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
