Job summary

FutureCare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Baltimore to perform preventive maintenance on facilities, systems, and equipment. The role requires keeping logs, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• At least 2 years' experience working in a building maintenance capacity highly preferred.
• Previous experience working in a skilled nursing facility environment a plus.
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
• Must have a polite and courteous demeanor towards residents and staff members.
• Ability to multi-task and work a flexible shift highly desirable.
• Ability to meet physical demands with standing, bending, stooping, walking, and lifting at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provides ongoing preventative maintenance for the facility, building, building systems, fire/safety equipment and medical equipment.
• Performs all necessary repairs and maintains accurate records and logs and produces required reports.
• Assures compliance with State and Federal Regulatory codes.
• Abides by the standards identified in FutureCare's Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan.
• Maintains clean, safe working environment at all times of the maintenance workshop.
• Reads and logs refrigerator temperatures daily.
• Tests and logs water temperatures daily.
• Observes budgetary guidelines regarding supplies and service and follows proper procedures relating to FutureCare's purchase order system.
• Adheres to facility policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
