Job summary

Midsouth Steel LLC. is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for an on-site, full-time role in Atlanta. You will support the Lead Maintenance Tech, perform basic maintenance duties, and learn on the job with clear pathways for advancement.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical aptitude, good safety awareness, and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs. Strong reading of tape measures and basic computer skills are needed.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical and electrical aptitude required.
• Punctual and dependable with consistent attendance.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs and maneuver materials safely.
• Able to read a tape measure and perform basic measurements.
• Proficient with computers for simple tasks and records.
• Willing to learn and follow safety fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot machinery under guidance of Lead Maintenance Tech.
• Perform low voltage electrical tasks as directed.
• Hold ladders and assist with material handling on site.
• Learn on the job from the Lead Maintenance Tech.

Job description

Midsouth Steel, a leader in the erection and fabrication of structural and miscellaneous steel has an immediate need for a Maintenance Assistant. This is a full-time, direct hire position offering great benefits and opportunity for advancement.

Hours M-F 7a-3:30p

Location: ON SITE

Job duties will entail.

Assisting Lead Maintenance Tech with all of his duties including:

• Troubleshooting machinery
• Low Voltage electrical work
• Holding ladders
• Carrying materials
• Learning from Lead Tech on the job

Ideal candidate will have:

• Good mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Punctuality and dependability
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Good computer skills
• Willingness to learn
• Knowledge of safety fundamentals
