Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep the community safe, clean, and fully functional. You will complete work orders, perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, appliances), assist with painting and refurbishing, and support HVAC and safety checks to ensure resident comfort and safety.

You will contribute to preventative maintenance and daily operations, follow OSHA and infection control standards, and participate in emergency preparedness

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Comfort driving community vehicle and following safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance tasks and work orders.
• Perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, appliances).
• Assist with painting, refurbishing, and suite make-ready.
• Support HVAC, water, and mechanical systems maintenance.
• Follow OSHA, fire safety, and infection control standards.
• Participate in emergency drills.
