Job summary

Cintas Corporation in Lafayette, LA seeks a Maintenance Apprentice to receive on-the-job training under a Maintenance Supervisor. You will learn to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial equipment, including washers, dryers, steam tunnels, conveyors, and boilers, and operate wastewater treatment systems while adhering to safety policies.

This training position prepares you for advancement after completing the program, with opportunities across maintenance disciplines and career

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read maintenance literature in English.
• Strong mechanical background and ability to perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Learn to repair, maintain, perform preventive/predictive maintenance, install and troubleshoot industrial equipment and systems (washers, dryers, steam tunnels, conveyors, boilers).
• Learn operation of industrial wastewater treatment systems and wash alley equipment.
• Perform indoor and outdoor housekeeping and follow health and safety policies.

Job Description

Cintas is seeking a Maintenance Apprentice. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Apprentice will receive on-the-job training to: learn how to repair, maintain, perform preventive/predictive maintenance, install and troubleshoot industrial equipment, systems and components, including washers, dryers, steam tunnels, conveyor systems and boilers; learn proper operation of industrial wastewater treatment systems and wash alley equipment; perform indoor and outdoor housekeeping; adhere to Cintas' health and safety policies and procedures while learning to perform all duties. This is a training position to allow the individual to compete for advancement upon completion of the program.

Skills/Qualifications

Required

• Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English
• General knowledge and skills that demonstrates good mechanical background
• Ability to stand for up to 7 hours of an 8 hour shift
• High School Diploma/GED

Preferred

• Maintenance knowledge- sufficient formal or informal training to perform the duties of this position
• Any combination of general maintenance, building maintenance, equipment maintenance, automotive maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical, and military experience is acceptable
• Experience with formalized safety programs preferred, such as Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, OSHA Awareness, Technical School Courses or Ladder Safety
