What You'll Do at Brandywine Counseling as a Maintenance and Safety Officer:
- The Maintenace/Safety Officer has primary responsibility for facilities maintenance and providing a safe environment in and around BCCS building during business hours.
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Handling basic repairs and maintenance
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems
- Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
- Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls
- Direct traffic safely in BCCS parking lots and all vehicles to appropriate parking areas. Direct all medical transport vans, cabs and other public vehicles to park outside of BCCS parking lot.
- Monitor parking lots, BCCS grounds, and BCCS buildings for disruptive behavioral and advises parties to act appropriately or leave the premises.
- Keep order and maintain an orderly line in dispensing. Assist nurses with any client incidents.
- Provide assistance to uncooperative and disruptive clients from premises
- Assist with snow and ice removal when necessary to ensure business parameter is safe
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities needed:
- Safety knowledge including techniques to address disruptive, uncooperative persons.
- Interpersonal skills as this position maintains strong working relationships with all BCCS staff.
- Crisis intervention: this position will respond to urgent or emergency situations in a way that minimizes trauma to the client and staff members and results in stabilization.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Experience using hand and electrical tools
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED
- REQUIRED: 1 year of maintenance experience (REQUIRED)
- REQUIRED: Valid driver's license with 2 points or less within the last three years
- REQUIRED: Must have own vehicle to travel statewide to other sites and will receive mileage reimbursement
Schedule / Location:
- Monday - Friday
- 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- Based out of our Wilmington location but this position will travel statewide.
Pay:
- Starting at $18.00 per hour
- Commensuration based on experience, education, and certification
