Job summary

Arnot Health seeks a Maintenance and PM Tech at St Joe's Hospital to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on boilers, chillers and related equipment, ensuring safe, compliant operations.

You will work 40 hours per week on night shifts, with duties spanning electrical and plumbing repairs, generator and motor work, belt/pulley changes, HVAC line work, laundry equipment upkeep, door closers and routine inspections of air intakes in high‑risk areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• At least two years experience in general and preventative maintenance including boiler plant operations.
• 7G Pesticide License is desired.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains and repairs boilers, chillers and related pumps.
• Performs minor electrical and plumbing repairs without supervision.
• Works on generators, motors, and control mechanisms.
• Replaces belts/pulleys, adjusts clutches, and changes motors.
• Assists in repairs of air, steam, water, gas and oil lines.
• Maintains laundry equipment across the hospital complex.
• Replaces call cords and repairs door closers in patient rooms.
• Inspects air intakes, screens and filters in high-risk areas.

Summary

Performs maintenance and preventive maintenance in compliance with local, state and federal laws, codes and regulations and Hospital policies and safety directives.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains and repairs boilers, chillers, and associated pumps and equipment.
• Performs minor electrical and plumbing repairs without supervision.
• Works on equipment such as generators, motors, automatic recording and control mechanisms.
• Changes belts and pulleys on motors, adjusts clutches on motors and changes electric motors.
• Assists in repairs of air, steam, water, gas and oil line systems.
• Maintains laundry equipment throughout Hospital complex.
• Replaces call cords and repairs door closers for Hospital patient rooms.
• Inspects air intakes sources, screens and filters with special attention to "high risk" areas, in accordance with departmental procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• At least two years experience in general and preventative maintenance work which includes boiler plant operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7G Pesticide License is desired.

Physical Requirements

Standing, climbing, lifting, stretching, stooping, carrying materials, and equipment. Works indoors and outdoors. Handles and manipulates tools and equipment. Occasionally handles heavy lifting up to 75 lbs.
