Job summary

ARCH Global Holdings is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain CNC production equipment in our Massachusetts facility. You will troubleshoot electronic and mechanical components, realign spindles and clutches, and validate repairs to minimize downtime.

The role requires reading blueprints and machine drawings, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with engineers and operators.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in mechanical/electrical fields preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience with CNC production machines.
  • Ability to read blueprints and machine drawings; interpret specs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment to diagnose failure and perform repairs.
  • Troubleshoot electronic and mechanical components; realign spindles/clutches.
  • Inspect parts for wear and alignment; validate repaired machines.
  • Provide support and training for machinists and operators.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance lists; schedule repairs with vendors.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve issues.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operates equipment as required in order to diagnose failure.

Troubleshoots equipment to the electronic and/or mechanical component level and dismantles equipment as required to make repairs.

Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.

Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches.

Validates repair of machines and equipment following repair.

Troubleshoots electrical components and must be able to measure AC and DC voltages and interpret machine system drawings.

Provides support and training for the machinists and machine operators.

Develops and maintains the preventive maintenance list for each machine and performs the preventative maintenance as required.

Schedules repairs using outside suppliers as required.

Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical disciplines preferred or equivalent training from military or technical school; 5 years related experience and/or training on CNC production machines; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and machine drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to present numerical data effectively and write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations.

Computer and Test Equipment Skills

Possess basic computer skills and Word Processing and Spreadsheet software and be able to navigate on the internet. Ability to use the following electronic test and diagnostic equipment; digital multi meter, oscilloscope, amp meter, meg meter.
