Kinross Gold, a Canadian-based global senior gold miner, is hiring a Maintenance and Contractor Trainer at Fort Knox, about 26 miles from Fairbanks, Alaska, one of the few cold-weather heap leach facilities in the world, which has produced over 8.5 million ounces since it began operating. The trainer develops, coordinates and delivers practical training so maintenance employees and contractors work safely and to site standards: site-specific contractor training and orientation, daily field checkups of contractors, verifying required training for site access, completing daily permits, and making sure new or modified equipment and processes have approved SOPs and management-of-change documentation before handover to Operations. The role also works with Electrical and Maintenance Supervisors to schedule crew training, keeps competency records, runs weekly contractor safety meetings, and supports the Working at Heights program and the Redlist roll-out. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, five or more years in industrial maintenance, skilled trades, heavy equipment, processing, mining or a comparable environment, experience training or coaching employees or contractors, strong knowledge of maintenance safety, energy isolation and permits, a valid driver’s license, and an MSHA Blue Card or willingness to get one.
