We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrical Technician to join a food production plant located in Manteno, IL. This role is available on either the 1st or 2nd shift and offers a competitive pay scale between $32.00 and $38.00 per hour within a professional, high-quality work setting.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for the upkeep, installation, and diagnostic repair of electrical infrastructure, ensuring that food manufacturing operations remain efficient and productive.
Primary Duties
- Perform installation and maintenance tasks on electrical infrastructure, such as panels, motors, wiring, and conduit systems.
- Set up electrical hardware for production lines to help maintain full compliance with all safety and industry regulations.
- Execute regular preventive maintenance checks to proactively detect and resolve issues, thereby minimizing operational downtime.
- Utilize specialized diagnostic tools to identify and resolve complex electrical failures.
- Restore system performance by replacing or repairing damaged electrical parts like circuit breakers, relays, and switches.
- Manage the programming and upkeep of Programmable Logic Controllers to ensure smooth automated machinery performance.
- Perform repairs and diagnostics on HMIs, VFDs, and various PLC systems.
- Evaluate electrical risks and perform safety inspections to help foster a secure environment for all personnel.
- Offer technical guidance and instruction to team members regarding the safe usage and basic troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
Qualifications
- Ability to analyze and understand technical manuals, electrical blueprints, and schematics.
- Comprehensive understanding of power distribution, control circuits, and AC/DC motor systems.
- Practical background in the repair, troubleshooting, and programming of PLCs.
- Working knowledge of automation hardware, including HMIs and VFDs.
- Expertise in operating diagnostic tools like insulation testers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters to ensure accurate system testing.
- Completion of high school or an equivalent educational program.
- At least five years of professional experience in industrial electrical roles, with a preference for those with a background in food manufacturing.
