Job summary
Wabtec is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our warehouse team in Yankton, SD. You will perform safety checks, repair and maintain equipment, and support production by ensuring parts are cleaned, counted, and recorded.
The role requires a HS diploma or GED, 1 year of experience, a valid driver’s license, forklift experience, and proficiency with Word and Excel. Training is provided, and you will follow lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- 18 years or older and HS diploma or GED with at least 1 year of work experience.
- Valid driver’s license and forklift experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to pass pre-employment tests and background checks.
Responsibilities
- Perform safety and maintenance checks on equipment and facilities.
- Replace cords and parts on broken or worn-out equipment.
- Repair hand tools, power tools, and perform plumbing repairs.
- Paint non-production items and troubleshoot equipment.
- Document repairs and complete data entry; follow lockout/tagout procedures.
- Assist with snow removal and lawn care; support other areas as needed.

L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI® cooling and heat transfer solutions for heavy equipment in the mining, oil and gas, construction, and heavy industrial sectors. We are seeking an individual to join our warehouse team. This position works closely with the warehouse supervisor, warehouse employees, and other plant personnel as needed.
As a member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for cleaning, repairing, and maintaining equipment, buildings, and plant grounds. You will also coordinate with vendors and outside contractors on building or maintenance projects when necessary.
We welcome candidates of all skill levels and are willing to train. This role is essential to maintaining efficient production flow by ensuring equipment, facilities, and materials are functioning properly, and that incoming orders are accurately received, counted, and recorded.
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of work experience

- Domestic and international travel possible depending on project needs
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The hourly range for this role is $23.00 – $33.50. The actual rate offered may vary based on training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market conditions, and work location. This pay range is subject to change.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Stand on concrete for 8–10 hours
- Work in high‑heat conditions
- Maintain safe work practices
- Basic mechanical skills, including electrical, hydraulic, and plumbing
- Forklift skills and ability to operate maintenance equipment
- Physical strength sufficient for job duties
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Electrical, HVAC, and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read blueprints, assembly drawings, and technical schematics
- Strong safety orientation and adherence to safety regulations
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to work productively in challenging or stressful situations
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment math test, physical, drug test, and background check
- Experience with Epicor or similar ERP systems
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Class B Driver’s License and DOT certification

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
