Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking a Maintenance Worker for the 2nd shift from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM in Stanley, VA. This role involves conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and diagnosing mechanical issues. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of maintenance experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance service.
  • Electrical experience in 460/230 3-phase services.
  • Ability to weld with MIG and stick machines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.

Maintenance 2nd shift 4:00 PM-12:30 AM

Work Location & Shifts

280 Donovan, Stanley, VA 22851 | 2nd shift 4pm to 12:30am

Pay

Hourly pay rate $28 - $30 hr (+$2/hr shift diff). Base pay varies based on knowledge, skills and experience.

What Makes a Successful Team Member

Under the general direction of the Plant Manager/Maintenance Supervisor, responsible for supporting various maintenance functions including troubleshooting running equipment, modifications, preventative/predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Requires flexibility on weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities
  • Strong, relentless and consistent focus on safety
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Handle basic repairs and maintenance on equipment and throughout facility
  • Oversee contractors for professional repairs
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures as needed
  • Maintain focus while working individually
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proven maintenance experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical systems
  • Skilled in use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to disassemble machines, equipment or devices to remove and replace parts
  • Ability to read blueprints, repair manuals or parts catalogs
  • Proficiency with hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches
  • Forklift, man lift and safety equipment experience preferred
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
  • Experience with CNC equipment preferred
  • Software and program loading experience preferred
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Strong organization, follow‑up, communication skills and attention to detail
  • Time management: maintain active work list and timely completion of tasks
  • Regular attendance and timeliness essential
  • Follow all operational and safety SOPs
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance service
  • Electrical experience in 460/230 3‑phase services, troubleshooting circuits, motor starters, lighting and control wiring
  • Pneumatic, manufacturing machinery and general plumbing knowledge desirable
  • Experience with hydraulic pumps and piping
  • Ability to weld with MIG and stick machines
  • Proper use of torch rig, electrical hand tools, grinders, drill motors, die grinders, portable band and bench grinders
  • Can lift 50+ lbs.
  • Can climb ladder and work in high areas
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Can work accurately, thoroughly and meet deadlines
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical education a plus
  • Self‑motivated, can work independently, highly alert
