Job summary

Trachte Building Systems in Vernon, AL is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs on manufacturing equipment in an industrial setting. You will troubleshoot, install, and maintain machines, operate a forklift, and use a multimeter.

A minimum of five years in a related field, a high school diploma or equivalent, owning basic hand tools, and a valid driver's license are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Complete daily work logs and use maintenance software to close work requests and PMs.
• Respond to facility issues or machine breakdowns.
• Safely operate a forklift when required.
• Work with electricity up to 480 volts: troubleshoot, change fuses, run lines.
• Troubleshoot and replace components like gears, sprockets, dies and punches.
• Complete additional facility tasks as assigned.

Job description

Ability to work independently, execute, and follow up on needed mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs, preventative maintenance on machines used to manufacture various components for metal storage buildings in addition to new installations in an industrial setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following

• Complete daily work logs as well as use a maintenance software to close out Work requests and PM's.
• Respond to radio calls regarding facilities issues or machine breakdowns.
• Be able to safely operate a forklift.
• Work with electricity, which includes high voltage (up to 480 volts), running new lines, troubleshooting machine issues, changing fuses, etc.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues independently. This may include changing a gear box, sprocket and chain, dies and punches, etc. These may have to be lifted independently from odd angles.
• Troubleshoot and replace hydraulic and pneumatic components such as cylinders, accumulators, valves, etc.
• Complete facility assignments including, but not limited to: plunging toilets, mopping, shoveling snow, cleaning gutters, cleaning drains, salting ice, etc.
• Be able to work comfortably and safely at heights.
• Must be able to use Multimeter in order to safely work on electrical projects.
• Familiar with lock-out-tag-out with a strong understanding of safe practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
