Ability to work independently, execute, and follow up on needed mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs, preventative maintenance on machines used to manufacture various components for metal storage buildings in addition to new installations in an industrial setting.
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience operating a caliper PLC and troubleshooting abilities necessary. Requires Welding accreditation Certificate
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job during a regular eight (8) hour shift, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; twist, bend, climb or balance; and stoop, squatting, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
In an 8 hour shift you should expect to walk briskly as much as 2-5 miles do to the size of our campus and only having one shop area. You should also expect to have to crawl under equipment, climb on top of equipment, balance on equipment, squeeze into spaces as small as 3' x 4' x 5' as an example of one of the smaller areas. Frequently lift over 75 pounds in very awkward positions due to equipment configuration and no possible means to use hoists, levers, etc. Be stable on and be able to climb up and down ladders many times in a shift. Have very good dexterity in hand fingers and arms, you must be able to get your arms and hands in very tight places, while manipulating nuts bolts, etc. Good flexibility is needed in wrists, fingers, elbows, shoulders, knees, hips, torso, neck, etc. This at times can be a very physically challenging job. Very good upper body and leg strength is preferred and helpful in preventing injury.
Must be able to regularly climb on equipment, crawl under equipment, and reach into equipment.
Must be able to walk long distances (multiple miles) every day and spend hours at a time standing.
Required to be able to work in hot environments, for instance in the summer, the surrounding area of equipment can reach high temperatures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Minimum of five (5) years experience in related field, including high school diploma or work equivalent. Strong electrical and mechanical experience along with pneumatic and hydraulic hands on experience. Demonstrated ability in utilizing math skills daily. Ability to work unsupervised, self-starter, team environment and able to handle deadline pressure. Must provide own basic hand tools. Must possess a valid drivers license for insurance purposes.
