Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to support HUD apartment buildings, offices, and sites in the Milwaukee area, with primary focus at 7500 N. Granville location.

Strong hands-on skills, 2+ years in maintenance, and ability to read blueprints are essential. Eligible benefits and a full-time schedule accompany this role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in building and grounds maintenance.
• Knowledge of building systems, tools, and safety procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform heavy manual labor.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (MVR check required).

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on boilers, water heaters, and mechanical systems.
• Maintain property appearance, landscaping, and snow removal.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls on rotating on-call schedule.
• Ensure compliance with HUD, WHEDA, REAC, and local codes.
• Monitor vendor work and maintain documentation.
• Assist with unit turnovers, equipment setup, and facility inspections.

This role supports our HUD apartment buildings, office locations, and program sites throughout the Milwaukee area, with a primary focus at our 7500 N. Granville location.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and more
• Conduct preventative maintenance on boilers, water heaters, and mechanical systems
• Maintain property appearance, landscaping, and snow removal
