Job summary

SAF-HOLLAND, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician to maintain, modify and repair electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems around the Marion facility. You will work on machinery, pipefitting, welding and equipment across the plant.

The role requires reading blueprints, using precision measuring tools, and following the plant Safety Program. You must be able to lift heavy parts and operate lifting devices as needed, with overtime as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in repair and maintenance of industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read blueprints and dimensional drawings.
  • Welding experience with arc and gas processes.
  • Must operate and maintain plant equipment including HVAC and water treatment.
  • Adherence to Safety Program and policies.
  • Ability to lift 30–90 pounds and perform heavy manual tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain all machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Manufacture replacement machine parts using machining equipment.
  • Construct and repair pipefitting for fluid and gas flow.
  • Perform welding using arc and gas welding equipment.
  • Operate and maintain plant HVAC, water treatment and equipment.
  • Repair electrical equipment in the plant.
  • Read blueprints and measurements with precision gauges.
  • Diagnose defective devices and locate root causes.
  • Perform threading, cutting, bending, caulking as required.
  • Maintain a clean work area and tools.
  • Follow Safety Program and perform duties as required by supervisor.

Job description

Summary

To maintain, modify and repair all electrical, mechanical and plumbing devices, components, equipment, etc. in and around the facility.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Perform repair and maintenance on all machinery and mechanical equipment

  • Must be able to manufacture all replacement machine parts utilizing a variety of machining equipment.

  • Perform construction and repair of all pipefitting and other facilities used for the flow of fluids and gases.

  • Perform welding using arc and gas welding equipment.

  • Operate and maintain air conditioning, heating, water treatment and equipment throughout the plant.

  • Repair all electrical equipment in the plant.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and dimensional drawings.

  • Perform measurements of gases, liquids, solids, electricity, etc. using a variety of highly accurate measuring instruments and gauges.

  • Observe defective mechanical and electrical devices and accurately diagnose problems.

  • Perform threading, cutting, bending, caulking, etc., as required.

  • Adhere to plant Safety Program and policies.

  • Perform counts as required.

  • Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment.

  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor.

  • Must be able to work the required shift hours and any overtime as required.

  • Must be able to lift thirty to ninety pounds intermittently over a regularly scheduled work day (employees are not expected to lift more than they feel comfortable lifting alone and should ask for assistance or use any of the lifting devices available to prevent injury).

  • Must be able to stand, walk or sit for the period of a regularly scheduled work day.

  • Must be able to bend over, grasp, push and pull heavy loads as required.

  • Must be able to operate sweeper and fork lift truck.

  • Must be able to use pneumatic tools, hand tools and various other machines such as electronic tests, manual testers, vices, presses, etc. as required.

  • Must be proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial gauges, etc.
