Job summary

Capri Laguna on the Beach in Laguna Beach, CA, is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to keep the hotel in top condition, performing upkeep on the structure, pool, and surrounding areas.

You will handle painting, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, drywall, and related tasks with hand and power tools, while documenting work orders in the hotel maintenance system and coordinating with Front Desk and the General Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of maintenance, repair, or engineering experience.
• Certification from a trade or technical maintenance program.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office or hotel maintenance software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Capri Laguna Hotel facilities including structure, pool, and surroundings.
• Perform painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, and related tasks using hand and power tools.
• Notify management of major repairs or additions to equipment.
• Document completed work orders and PM tasks in the hotel’s maintenance system.
• Respond to guest service requests and stay accessible to Front Desk and GM.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE.

Join the Maintenance Team at Capri Laguna

Job Responsibilities:

• Keep the Capri Laguna Hotel in top shape by performing maintenance on the physical structure, pool, and surrounding areas.
• Handle tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC functions, drywall repair, and more, using both hand tools and power tools.
• Notify management of any major repairs or additions needed for lighting, heating, or ventilating equipment.
• Respond promptly to guest service requests as per company policy, keeping detailed records of completed tasks.
• Stay accessible to Front Desk and General Manager for any maintenance needs.
• Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets and ensure par stocking of necessary parts and supplies.
• Learn and follow emergency procedures to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Skills:

• Utilize specifications and work accurately to precise measurements.
• Perform arithmetic calculations to determine materials needed and inspect products for quality.
• Ability to lift and move materials, climb, balance, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Experience and Requirements:

• Previous hotel or luxury property experience.
• Certification from a trade or technical maintenance program.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office or hotel-specific maintenance software

Safety & Documentation

Follow all safety protocols and use proper PPE.

Document completed work orders and PM tasks in the hotel’s maintenance system.

Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to communicate in English (written and spoken)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 6 hours per shift).
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs routinely.
• Ability to push/pull up to 250 lbs occasionally (carts, equipment).
• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and reach overhead.
• Must possess manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment.
