Job summary

Ace Hardware Corporation is seeking a skilled maintenance technician in Hoschton, GA to repair, inspect and maintain all facility equipment and systems. The role supports a 7:00am–3:30pm schedule, Monday through Friday, with emphasis on preventive maintenance and safety compliance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in facility maintenance, strong reading of manuals and schematics, and experience with HVAC, electrical, and conveyors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years maintenance experience preferably in distribution, including HVAC, electrical, conveyor systems, plumbing, material handling equipment, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain all equipment and systems within the facility.
  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery and systems to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Read and understand manuals, blueprints, repair instructions, schematics, and test instruments.
  • Perform safety inspections in manufacturing or industrial settings.

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Job Description:

Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

Repair and maintain all equipment and systems within the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. Perform routine preventive maintenance or repairs to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of building does not deteriorate. Inspect, operate, or test machinery, equipment, or systems to diagnose machine malfunctions. Repair and maintenance of conveyor systems. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work. Work with outside contractors for major repair and maintenance issues, including obtaining quotes, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS/CONTEXT:
  • Requires manual and finger dexterity, driving, walking, bending or twisting, stooping, climbing, reaching, carrying, standing.
  • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Requires face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams,
  • Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or cold (below 50 F degrees) temperatures
  • Requires repeating the same physical activities or mental activities over and over
  • Requires being exact or highly accurate
  • Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions
  • Moderate noise, conditions could include odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
  • Lifting up to 50 LBS
WORK ACTIVITIES:
  • Perform maintenance on all industrial trucks
  • Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on all facility systems (water, HVAC, electrical, etc.)
  • Modify, change, and re-configure racking
  • Moves equipment, furniture, & office equipment
  • Use ladders and man lifts to work at heights
  • Construction, painting, and wiring
  • Read and understand manual, repair instructions, schematics, & test instruments
  • Handling and Moving Objects
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates
  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment
  • Use two-way radio or mobile phone
  • Perform safety inspections in manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Clean rooms or work areas
  • Move or lift heavy objects
  • Maintain safe work environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 5+ years maintenance experience preferably in distribution, including HVAC, electrical, conveyor systems, plumbing, material handling equipment, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand manuals, blueprints, repair instructions, schematics, & test instruments.
  • Preferred experience and knowledge with electrical and hazardous materials.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours, including weekends.
  • Be Safety-Minded.
