Job summary

WKS Restaurant Group is seeking a Maintenance Employee to service multiple locations in California. You will report to the Director of Operations and provide entry-level maintenance and trade support across buildings and units.

Responsibilities include custodial work (~75%), ensuring cleanliness, inspecting vacated units, reporting issues, performing minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical tasks, and safe handling of chemicals. Ability to lift heavy loads and commute to sites is required.

Qualifications

• Entry-level knowledge of basic building maintenance.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks daily.

Responsibilities

• Custodial duties comprising approximately 75% of tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of offices, restrooms, exteriors, units.
• Clean vacated units and verify doors, latches, alarms function.
• Monitor facility condition and report maintenance needs.
• Perform pest control inspections and take appropriate action.
• Perform minor nonstructural carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Perform touch up painting and landscape maintenance.
• Perform nonstructural unit conversions as directed.
• Make daily site visits to locations for assigned tasks and complete them on time.
• Use safe work practices and ensure proper supplies are on hand.

Job description

Pay Range: $16.00 – $30.00
Listed wages are based on company-wide ranges. Actual earnings will vary based on factors such as: restaurant brand, experience, education, geography, applicable minimum wage, unit volume(s), hours worked & potential overtime pay.

I. General Description:

Reports directly to the Director of Operations, the Maintenance Employee must demonstrate entry-level knowledge of basic building maintenance and some trade support, i.e., basic electrical, plumbing, masonry, custodial, carpentry, painting, doors, roofs, golf carts, etc. The position provides services for single or multiple locations within the Company.

II. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

• Custodial – Approximately 75%
• Ensures that company standards of cleanliness and appearance are met or exceeded in offices, restrooms, exterior areas, company units, hallways, etc.
• Cleans vacated units on a timely basis (reviews units to ensure that doors, latches, and alarms are functional)
• Monitors the physical condition of the facility and reports maintenance requirements and potential equipment failures to the Store Manager
• Makes pest control inspections and takes appropriate actions
• Ensures that the safe handling and storage of chemicals and cleaners used in performing duties is in compliance with safety standards
• Performs minor nonstructural carpentry repairs and replacements on doors, fences, and buildings as required. May also do minor plumbing and electrical repairs not required to be performed by a licensed contractor or the Senior Maintenance worker
• Performs touch up painting and landscape maintenance on property
• Performs nonstructural unit conversions as directed
• Makes daily scheduled visits to sites for various tasks as directed
• Completes assigned tasks and meets quality, time, and financial constraints
• Performs all work using safe work practices and in accordance with policies
• Ensures the facility has sufficient supplies on hand to fulfill job duties

III. JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Demonstrates a general knowledge of site management that includes customer service skills and daily operational knowledge
• Performs other duties as assigned; works with minimum direct supervision; operates effectively on a team
• Maintains a safe environment for employees and customers
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and to be able to speak and hear.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and to smell.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds or more.
• Ability to drive (automobile, rental truck, golf cart, etc.)
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have reliable transportation
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
• Regular attendance at the assigned location is required.
