Job summary

AWI Management Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to help maintain a 48-unit apartment community in Desert Hot Springs, CA. The role requires on-site housing and a full-time schedule with 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday.

You will perform general maintenance tasks, respond to work orders, and support residents while ensuring safety and quality housing. Experience with HUD/LIHTC programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, cleaning, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
• Assist with preventative maintenance to ensure building systems remain in good working condition.
• Maintain the grounds and landscaping to support strong curb appeal.
• Assist with annual apartment inspections and identifying maintenance needs.
• Coordinate vendors and order supplies with the Property Manager.
• Maintain positive relationships with residents, vendors, and staff.
• Report lease or house rule violations when observed.
• Respond to emergency maintenance situations.
• Follow company policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do

As the Maintenance Technician, you will help ensure the property is well maintained , safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner
• Performing general maintenance tasks including painting, cleaning, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
• Assisting with preventative maintenance to ensure building systems remain in good working condition
• Maintaining the grounds and landscaping to support strong curb appeal
• Assisting with annual apartment inspections and identifying maintenance needs
• Working with the Property Manager to coordinate vendors and order supplies
