Benton County Conservation is hiring a Maintainer Operator to perform basic maintenance of rock and dirt roads in an assigned area, with occasional travel to Vinton. Responsibilities include resurfacing, drainage shaping, snow/ice removal, and operating trucks to spread materials.
Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement, plus the ability to read safety rules and communicate effectively.
This position is located in Belle Plaine area. The Maintainer Operator is responsible for the basic maintenance of all rock and dirt surfaced roads within an assigned territory.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
This position will sometimes require working overtime, including non-traditional hours. This will be a regular occurrence during snow removal in the winter months.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The employee is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The work environment will include temperatures varying from extreme heat in the summer to extreme cold in the winter.
This position reports to the designated location listed above with occassional travel to Vinton.
