At Regions, the Systems Administrator oversees installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides expertise to the design, planning, implementation, operation, and security of systems
- Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization
- Overseesthe installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software
- Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system
- Monitors and maintains continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements
- Provides recommendations regarding hardware and system software planning and budgeting
- Manages compliance in Security and Regulatory standards
- Some scripting (i.e. PowerShell and Bash)
- Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation
- Drives improvements to processes and design enhancements
- Coordinates, facilitates, and verifies projects across multiple environments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or a technical training program with six (6)years of related experience
- Or, a High School Diploma or GED with ten (10) years of related experience

- Certificate Lifecycle Management:-Creating, renewing, revoking, and managing certificates for users, systems, and applications.
- RACF Integration:Coordinating with RACF security team for the installation of certificates
- Application Integration:
- Coordinating with Application owners for the for the installation of certificates
- SSL/TLS Configuration: Configuring SSL/TLS connections, including setting up trust stores and keyrings, to secure communication channels.
- Certificate Auditing: Tracking certificate usage and activity for security analysis and compliance.
- Security Policy Implementation: Ensuring certificates are used in accordance with organizational security policies and best practices.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues related to certificate management and SSL/TLS connectivity.
Key Skills and Knowledge
- Certificate Authority (CA) knowledge:Understanding the principles and practices of CA operations, including certificate signing and revocation.
- RACF Administration:Familiarity with RACF commands, profiles, and security settings.
- SSL/TLS Protocols:Knowledge of SSL/TLS protocols and their use in z/OS environments.
- Cryptographic Concepts:Understanding of cryptographic keys, certificates, and their use in securing communication.
- z/OS System Administration:Basic knowledge of z/OS system administration tasks.

- ISPF:Interactive System Productivity Facility, used for interacting with z/OS.
- ConnectDirect:Familiarity with SecurePlus and User Authorization Records.
- Apache Server: Used for application interfaces
- AT-TLS: Used for creation of a secure session on behalf of an application
- PAGENT: The Policy Agent for z/OS
This position is currently offsite; however associate must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham AL, Atlanta GA, or Charlotte NC. Associates will work from their home primarily. They may be expected to go on site for meetings or other events as needed.
Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
