Overview

This position is a job family with four levels to the position. Level I is described below.

  • Basic responsibilities: responsible for the completion of scheduled computer-processing jobs.
  • Typical duties: communicates with members, employees and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Operates the installed mainframe computer, client/server computers, and peripheral equipment.
  • Performs basic preventive maintenance on installed equipment as specified by the vendor.
  • Maintains and writes computer operations procedures in the Standard Operating Procedures Manual.
  • Ensures equipment operates properly, is cleaned, filters replaced as prescribed, and service calls placed when necessary.
  • Ensures accurate turnover after shift; communicates with programming staff in case of software problems.
  • Maintains attentive and responsive communication with other Operators and internal staff using various tools.
  • Imports and exports statistical data to specified databases; logs nightly and morning job activities for audit purposes.
  • Enters operational statistics into specified databases and executes computer run requests in a timely manner.
  • Ensures reports are properly archived into the system.
  • Maintains compliance with GECU policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, including BSA, AML, MIP, and OFAC.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union.
Qualifications
  • Level I: Associate degree in CIS or equivalent related field with one year of similar or related experience.
  • Physical requirements: up to 10 pounds, reaching above and below shoulder level; lifting up to 35 pounds; bending, squatting, and kneeling frequently; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Primary responsibility: Providing quality service by treating members and coworkers with respect and courtesy at all levels, whether in person or by telephone, as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Required availability: Monday - Friday, 6:30 am – 7:00 pm; rotating on-call schedule; training period may involve overnight hours.
