Job summary

Zen & Art in Atlanta is seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer to lead performance management and capacity planning for critical workloads. You will monitor z/OS health, analyze RMF/SMF data, and drive performance tuning across multi-processor environments.

The role requires 10+ years of mainframe experience, JCL/DB2 proficiency, and collaboration with DevOps and operations. 3-days/week in office; 12-month duration; in-person interview required for local candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field.
• 10+ years of mainframe experience with z/OS performance management.
• Proven experience in RMF/SMF data analysis and capacity planning.
• Strong JCL and DB2 proficiency; WLM and performance tuning knowledge.
• Experience with DevOps and data visualization tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time z/OS health and performance across CPU, memory, DASD, and WLM workloads.
• Analyze performance data to identify bottlenecks and advise tuning strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal workload behavior.
• Support incident response and on-call rotations for performance issues.
• Migrate performance tooling to Git-based DevOps pipelines.
