ConsultNet Technology Services and Solutions seeks a Senior Mainframe Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the z/OS communications stack in a remote/Florida-preferred setup on IBM z16 hardware. You will own VTAM, TCP/IP, routing, and secure file transfer configurations, ensuring a secure, reliable, and highly available environment.

This role requires hands-on experience with VTAM/SNA, OMPROUTE/OSPF, and security tools such as IPsec and AT-TLS, plus on-call support.

Competenze

• 5+ years of z/OS systems engineering experience with a focus on mainframe networking.
• Hands-on experience with IBM z/OS Communications Server, SNA/VTAM, and TCP/IP
• Experience with APPN networks and class of service, Enterprise Extender, and OMPROUTE (OSPF)
• Experience with AT-TLS, IPsec, IP security, QoS, Policy Agent, and IC SF
• Working knowledge of Sysplex, subplexing, HiperSockets, OSA-ICC, JES2, SDSF, SMP/E, and Unix System Services (USS)
• Experience with IBM Connect:Direct (NDM) and CA TPX
• System programming skills with JCL and REXX
• Bachelor's degree in an IT related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
• Ability to participate in on-call support

Mainframe Network Engineer (z/OS Communications Server)

Location: Remote (Florida preferred)
Type: Contract, through May 2027 (40 hrs/week)

About the Role

A large healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Mainframe Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the network and communications stack that keeps its z/OS environment secure, reliable, and highly available. You will own VTAM, TCP/IP, routing, and secure file transfer configuration on IBM z16 hardware, serve as a technical resource for other engineers, and drive automation and process improvements. This role includes on-call support as needed.

What You'll Do
