Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Mainframe specialist to lead analysis, design, and modernization of COBOL-DB2/VSAM systems, migrating to Java on AWS. You will leverage Claude-assisted transformations, work within Agile teams, and contribute to testing and production deployments.

The role requires strong mainframe skills, Java development, and experience with cloud modernization initiatives, with cross-functional collaboration across business and technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

Experience with Mainframe COBOL, JCL, DB2 and VSAM.
Experience migrating COBOL/DB2 to Java on AWS.
Proficient with Claude-assisted code transformation tools.
Familiar with Agile practices and JIRA for project management.
Ability to perform unit/integration testing and support UAT.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed system analysis, requirement gathering, and technical design for Mainframe applications.
Develop, enhance, maintain, and support COBOL/JCL/DB2/VSAM applications.
Analyze interfaces, data flows, and batch schedules to identify dependencies.
Support modernization, decommissioning, and migration to Java/AWS.
Collaborate with stakeholders in Agile teams and participate in deployments.
