Job summary
Procom is seeking an experienced Mainframe Software Developer specializing in application modernization to join our financial services client project in Texas. You will design, develop, and implement complex solutions bridging legacy mainframe and distributed systems, with emphasis on performance and scalability.
You will mentor distributed teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive modernization efforts using AI-assisted tooling.
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of mainframe tech (COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, MQ).
- 3+ years in a lead or co-lead role.
- 3-4 years with tools such as Control-M, ChangeMan, File-AID, Startool, STARBAT, Xpediter, TOAD, and SPUFI.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify modernization opportunities.
- Design and implement modernization strategies for legacy applications including mainframe migration and refactoring.
- Build interfaces between legacy and modern distributed applications.
- Use AI tools to improve productivity.
- Mentor the technical team across geographically distributed locations.
- Meet project timelines and deliver high-quality results.
