Job summary

hyrusinc is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer for COBOL/CICS in the Automotive Finance sector. The role is based in Torrance, CA, offering hybrid work (4 days onsite).

The contract-to-hire position focuses on application development, production support, and performance optimization across enterprise systems. Ideal candidates will have hands-on COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and MQ experience within mainframe environments, plus strong debugging and batch processing skills.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in production support and batch/online processing.

Responsibilities

• Provide application development and production support for large-scale mainframe applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including batch and online abends.
• Analyze and optimize daily/monthly batch processes to improve efficiency and reduce processing windows.
• Perform impact analysis across multiple systems and platforms.
• Deliver technical design, development, and estimation documentation.
• Participate in on-call support for batch processes during off-hours.

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL/CICS, DB2, JCL, and MQ, along with domain experience in Automotive Finance. The role involves application development, production support, and performance optimization across multiple enterprise-level systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide application development and production support for large-scale mainframe applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including batch and online abends
• Analyze and optimize daily/monthly batch processes to improve efficiency and reduce processing windows
