Job summary

ManpowerGroup, the parent of Experis, seeks a Mainframe Developer to join the software engineering team in Southlake, TX (or Austin, TX). The role focuses on modernizing legacy mainframe interfaces and building scalable solutions for high-volume brokerage processing.

You will design, develop, and implement modernization solutions, mentor peers, and collaborate with business stakeholders and platform teams to optimize complex systems.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, Datacom, SQL, SQL Stored Procedures, IBM MQ or Kafka, CICS, Easytrieve, REXX, and SORT utilities.
• Strong experience with high-volume transactions processing, including brokerage experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience with at least 3+ years in a lead/co-lead role.
• 3-4 years of experience with tools such as Control-M, ChangeMan, FileAid, Startool, STARBAT, Xpeditor, TOAD, and SPUFI.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement modernization solutions for interfaces between legacy mainframe applications and distributed applications.
• Own architecture solutioning, design, development, and implementation of complex software that supports CABPT processing capabilities.
• Build and maintain interfaces and callouts from mainframe to distributed platforms to enable scalable, maintainable processing.
• Evaluate existing legacy systems and propose improvements to performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop automated processes for legacy applications to improve consistency, efficiency, and delivery timelines.

Our client is seeking a Mainframe Developer to join their team. As a Mainframe Developer, you will be part of the software engineering organization supporting enterprise modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong drive to modernize legacy systems, a collaborative mindset across technical and business stakeholders, and a proactive approach to using AI coding tools and agentic AI to increase productivity. Job Title: Mainframe Developer Location: Southlake, TX or Austin, TX Pay Range: $65-$68/hr
