We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with strong experience in Cobol to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA/Dallas, TX is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and maintain Cobol programs and applications on mainframe systems.
  • Analyze existing Cobol applications for enhancements and optimizations.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mainframe applications.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • Maintain documentation of configurations and amendments.
  • Support deployment and production activities.
Requirements
  • 8+ of experience as a Mainframe Developer with a focus on Cobol.
  • Strong understanding of mainframe environments, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, and other related technologies.
  • Experience with debugging and performance tuning.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
