Job summary

KellyMitchell Group seeks a Mainframe Developer to join a leading financial services client in Hopkins, MN. You will design and build relational database models, define data requirements, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet business needs.

Responsibilities include translating requirements into data models, writing data manipulation scripts, establishing test data strategies, and ensuring compliance with privacy and regulatory standards while supporting production and modernization efforts.

Qualifications

  • Must have COBOL, CICS, DB2 and SQL experience.
  • Experience with JCL and MVS Utilities is required.
  • Proven production support experience and CA7 scheduling familiarity.
  • Analytical skills to design effective to-be systems from as-is data.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand processes, data requirements, and data consumption needs.
  • Translate requirements into logical/physical data models and mappings.
  • Develop logical and physical database models and scripts for data manipulation.
  • Design reusable test data patterns and provisioning strategies.
  • Define test data strategies for multiple testing types.
  • Document models, mappings, provisioning steps, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure test data solutions comply with privacy, retention, and regulatory rules.

Job description

Our client, a leading financial services provider, is seeking a Mainframe Developer to join their team. The Mainframe Developer is responsible for designing and building relational database models and defining data requirements to meet the business needs.

Core Responsibilities
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, SMEs, analysts, and development teams to understand business processes, data requirements, source systems, data mappings, and data consumption needs.
  • Translate business requirements, processes, and rules into logical and physical data models, source‑to‑target mappings, and data integration specifications.
  • Develop logical and physical database models.
  • Write scripts and commands for data manipulation.
  • Design and govern reusable test data patterns, provisioning approaches, masking strategies, synthetic data solutions, and environment refresh processes.
  • Define and implement test data strategies that support functional, regression, integration, performance, automation, and modernization testing needs.
  • Document data models, test data design patterns, source‑to‑target mappings, provisioning processes, standards, and best practices for repeatable enterprise use.
  • Ensure test data solutions comply with data privacy, protection, retention, classification, and regulatory requirements for sensitive customer and financial data.

  • Experience analyzing relational databases, mainframe data structures, files, batch jobs, APIs, and downstream data consumers

Work Environment

Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay Range: $44.00–$63.00 per hour (approximate); final compensation may vary based on factors including background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
