Job summary

Veriipro is seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to join their team in Pennington, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mainframe technologies, especially in COBOL, and will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing mainframe applications.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning and problem resolution. A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science is required along with proficiency in various mainframe tools.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL.
• Work with databases (DB2, IMS, or similar) and utilize JCL for batch processing.
• Manage and maintain VSAM files and related file structures.
• Develop and maintain COBOL stored procedures; experience with native stored procedures is a plus.
• Utilize tools such as Endevor, Changeman, File Manager, and SPUFI for code management and deployment.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently.
