Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe DB2 System DBA to manage, maintain, and support DB2 environments on z/OS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, performance monitoring, and ensuring high availability of DB2 subsystems while supporting business and application requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, configure, and maintain DB2 on z/OS along with associated IBM and third-party tools
• Monitor DB2 subsystems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability
• Manage DB2 databases, including creation, modification, and maintenance activities
• Provide technical support for DB2 subsystems, utilities, and database tools
• Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions
• Support application teams and business users with DB2-related requirements
• Ensure database security, backup, and recovery processes are in place and tested
• Collaborate with system programmers and infrastructure teams for environment stability
• Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience with DB2 on z/OS (installation, upgrade, and maintenance)
• Solid understanding of mainframe environments and z/OS architecture
• Experience with DB2 utilities (e.g., REORG, LOAD, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER)
• Knowledge of performance tuning and monitoring tools
• Familiarity with IBM and third-party DB2 tools
• Experience in database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to support multiple DB2 subsystems in a production environment

Preferred Qualifications
