Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a seasoned replication specialist to design, implement and optimize DB2 replication across mainframe and distributed platforms. You will build pipelines, configure capture and apply processes, and ensure real-time data synchronization while minimizing latency and resource impact.

Bring hands-on IIDR/CDR replication experience, strong UNIX skills, and familiarity with z/OS, RACF, JCL/TSO/ISPF. Collaboration with DBAs and data teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Hands-on replication experience with IIDR or CDC replication.
• Strong UNIX system service knowledge and scripting abilities.
• Experience with z/OS, RACF, JCL, and SDSF in mainframe environments.
• Understanding of data capture and data flow in distributed systems.
• Familiarity with MQ, ETL, data warehousing and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure and maintain DB2 replication across platforms.
• Build and manage source-to-target replication pipelines.
• Configure replication components: capture, apply, control and fault handling.
• Implement unidirectional and bidirectional replication with real-time sync.
• Triage data inconsistencies, replication failures and backlogs.
• Provide L2/L3 production incident support and root-cause analysis.
• Tune replication performance to reduce latency and optimize resources.

• Design, install, configure, and maintain DB2 replication solutions across mainframe and distributed platforms
• Build and manage source-to-target replication pipelines
• Configure replication components:

• Control servers
• Implement:
• Unidirectional and bidirectional replication setups
• Real-time and near-real-time data synchronization solutions
• Troubleshooting & Support
• Troubleshoot and resolve:
• Data inconsistencies
• Replication failures
• Queue backlogs
• Network interruptions
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Provide L2/L3 support for production incidents
• Performance Optimization
• Tune replication processes to:
• Reduce latency
• Optimize resource utilization
• Minimize impact on source systems
• Optimize:
• Data capture efficiency
• Apply performance
• Network usage
• Integration & Data Architecture
• Support integration across:
• DB2 z/OS and DB2 LUW systems
• Distributed databases, message queues, and ETL platforms

Who You Are

• Experience with:DB2 for z/OSZDIHMIPS reduction / optimization projects
• UNIX system service including installing patch on UNIX
• UNIX scripting
• RACF
• Hands-on experience with replication technologies:IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR) / CDCQ Replication (preferred)
• Knowledge of:Replication architecture and data flow design
• Change Data Capture (CDC) concepts
• Strong troubleshooting skills in:Data consistency issues
• Performance and replication latency
• Experience with:JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSFMainframe batch and online environments

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with:MQ / messaging systems
• ETL and data warehousing platforms
• Experience with:Monitoring tools
• Automation (REXX, Python, scripting)
• Exposure to:Cloud or hybrid data architectures
• Experience in:Large-scale data migration or modernization programs
• Real-time data streaming architectures
