Job summary

Vision Talent/Jarvis Consulting partners with a leading Canadian bank to hire Senior Mainframe Specialists to drive modernization and mentor junior developers. The roles require banking domain expertise and deep mainframe tech, including COBOL, CICS, DB2 and JCL.

These are 12-month contracts that may convert to permanent roles, with 100% remote work across Canada, allowing experienced professionals to influence large-scale mainframe programs from anywhere.

Qualifications

• 10 - 15+ years of application development, analysis experience on large-scale mainframe systems (COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL).
• Experience mentoring junior developers and leading teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proven track record in core banking processing and transactions.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing modernization initiatives on mainframe systems.
• Mentor and train junior developers in mainframe technologies.
• Provide analysis and troubleshooting for large-scale banking transactions.
• Lead technical reviews and guidance within the team.

Vision Talent/Jarvis Consulting is supporting one of Canada's leading banks, they are seeking multiple Mainframe Developers/Mainframe Application Support Specialists to join their growing team. They are seeking Senior Mainframe Specialists with banking experience to assist with ongoing modernization initiatives, as well as helping to mentor/train junior developers.

These are initial 12 month contract terms that may convert to permanent employment after the 12 month contract term.

These roles will be 100% remote from anywhere in Canada.

Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of core banking processing, transactions and proven analytical skills
• 10 - 15+ years of application development, analysis experience on large-scale/enterprise mainframe systems (COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL)
• Experience working on medium to large scale mainframe application supporting a broad range of services and transactions
• Proven leader with coaching/mentoring experience
• Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
