Job description

  • Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for a Main Propulsion Engineer Analystwho will be a key support to the Government customer.
  • Located in San Diego, CA.
Job Description:
  • Operate and maintain Main Propulsion related equipment and support systems
  • Responsible for directing the Main Propulsion process, developing support policies, procedures and systems, and providing implementation guidance.
  • Prepares and implements directives to ensure effective support and establishes and enforces standards to ensure that the assigned workforce is properly trained and equipped.
  • Develop, initiate, integrate and manage all Main Propulsion actions associated with life cycle management of weapon systems, subsystems and equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 20 years of related experience.
  • Must have at least 3 at sea tours working in a Main Propulsion capacity.
  • Must have experience operating and maintaining MP related equipment and support systems.
  • Must have/had Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) qualification on at least one Navy ship.
  • Must have Naval Shipboard Operational experience equivalent to Limited Duty Officers, Warrant Officers, Engineering Duty Officers or Senior Enlisted personnel.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Preferred recent experience (within the last 5 years) operating or maintaining a Main Propulsion plant.
  • Preferred Retired E7/E8.
  • Preferred experience as one of the following:
    • An Inspector for the U.S. Navy Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV);
    • Inspector at the Afloat Training Group; or
    • TYCOM staff focusing on Pre-INSURV preparations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Security Requirements:
  • Must currently hold and be able to maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel -less than 10%
  • If a position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
