Job summary

McCarthy Hyundai in Olathe, Kansas is seeking a Main Line Technician with experience to join our Service Department. This full-time position requires strong automotive repair skills and a commitment to quality service for Hyundai and Kia vehicles.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of technician experience.
• Hyundai/Kia experience preferred.
• ASE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform work per maintenance/repair orders efficiently and to dealership standards.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems (oil changes, flushes, etc.).
• Provide labor and time estimates for additional repairs.
• Explain diagnoses and required repairs to service advisors and customers in plain language.
• Inspect and test vehicles and document findings to authorize necessary repairs.

Job Duties

• Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including flushes, oil changes, etc.
• Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
• Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
• Inspect and test new vehicles and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made. Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.

Job Requirements

• 3-5 years tech experience
• Hyundai and Kia experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED.
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred
• Proven experience in automotive maintenance and repair
• Large import experience is highly desired.
