Job description

An academic center in Kentucky invites applications for several dynamic positions within its Department of Neurology. They are currently seeking qualified individuals to join their collegial group in various specialties, including Stroke Medicine, Headache, Movement Disorders, Neuromuscular Medicine, Multiple Sclerosis, and Cognitive/Behavioral Neurology. Additionally, they are seeking a Stroke Medical Director for those that qualify.

Position Highlights:
• Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Level 1 Trauma Center
• Join a team of 16 neurologists
• Non-burdensome call
• Research and participation in clinical trials is encouraged

Stroke Physician Researcher:
• Opportunity for up to 60% protected research time initially
• Grants not required but welcomed
• Opportunity to collaborate with UofL's Research Institute and contribute to their comprehensive stroke program

Headache Highlights:
• 80% sub-specialty volume to start
• Conduct procedures such as Botox, Nerve Blocks, and Trigger Point Injections.
• Access to on-site infusion suites.

Movement Disorders Highlights:
• Collaborate with a DBS Neurosurgeon.
• Utilize MRI and PET equipment.
• Start with 75% sub-specialty volume, with potential to build over time.

Neuromuscular Medicine Highlights:
• Potential leadership position available
• 100% Neuromuscular Medicine volume available
• Dedicated EMG day built into schedule
• Ultrasound EMG machines on site
• Established Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at main campus
• Well-established ALS and MDS clinics
• Faculty appointment

Multiple Sclerosis Highlights:
• Utilize on-site MRI Machine.
• 100% MS volume, while participating in general neurology call.
• Access to on-site infusion suites.

Cognitive/Behavioral Highlights:
• 100% sub-specialty volume.
• Oversee an inpatient unit for severe behavioral issues.
• Collaborate with Social Workers, Neuropsychologists, and Psychometric Specialists.
• Access to nearby Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation services.
